Pour Picks is free to download, and the free version doesn't expire. Cask Club is the paid tier: $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year, billed and renewed through the App Store. The yearly plan comes to about $4.17 a month, so if you searched for a whiskey inventory app under $5 a month, the yearly plan fits.
Cask Club adds unlimited scans and Precision Match. It also opens the Wishlist and Finished shelves and takes the cap off Owned, and that's the whole list. Reviews and pairings are free, and so are Bourbon DNA and the Concierge.

No. Pour Picks has no barcode scanner. You point your iPhone at the front label and take a photo. The app reads the label and matches it to a bottle in the catalog, then it goes on your shelf. Free accounts get 5 scans in total and Cask Club scans are unlimited, and you never have to turn a bottle around to hunt for a barcode.
If a barcode scanner is the one thing you need, OnlyDrams has one. Its listing says it shows you what you should be paying while you're standing in the store.
Bottles go on shelves. Everyone gets the Owned shelf, which holds 5 bottles on the free version and as many as you like on Cask Club. Cask Club also adds Wishlist (the bottles you're hunting) and Finished (the ones you've emptied).
Every bottle in your cellar has a price. It starts at the catalog's list price, and you can type in what you actually paid. If you own two of something it counts twice, and the total sits at the top of the cellar. The app doesn't pull auction or secondary-market prices. For that, Bourboneur and OnlyDrams both do a lot more.
Reviews are free. Each one has notes on the nose, palate and finish plus an overall rating. It stays with the bottle so you can find it the next time you pour.
There are three ways in. Bourbon DNA gives you a palate profile. The Bourbon Concierge takes one bottle you love and returns its 10 closest matches. Both are free. Precision Match is part of Cask Club: a 10-question quiz that gives you your top 10 bottles with a reason next to each one.
You can also browse by distillery or by char level, and every bottle page lists food pairings.
I read each app's App Store listing and website on October 12, 2026. Prices and features change, so check the listing before you pay for anything. Where a cell says "not listed", I looked for that detail on the app's listing and its own site and couldn't find it.

Each of the other three does something better. OnlyDrams has by far the most ratings and runs on Android, and its barcode scanner and live pricing are made for checking a bottle in a store. BarrelBook costs a one-time $7.99 and works on iPad with iCloud sync. It also tracks infinity bottles. Bourboneur is built around what bottles sell for on the secondary market.
Pour Picks is the one built around the label photo and around matching: Bourbon DNA, the Concierge and Precision Match all point you at bottles you haven't tried yet.

Pour Picks is an iPhone app. There is no Android version, and the App Store does not list it for iPad.
How do I cancel Cask Club?
Cask Club is an App Store subscription, so you cancel it on your iPhone in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. It stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
